Our first day of muck-diving. It was outstanding.
We were on the boat the whole day. They take it sort of easy with long sailing - and long surface time between the dives. This provides a good oppertunity for having lunch between 2 dives, and relaxing.
We had 1 good dive and 1 excellent dive. We have seen the most amazing creatures. The sandy bottom and lack of coral make it easy to spot everything.- Ow well almost everything - Karin has seen a lot more than I did.
We are glad that we are here because the wall diving at Bunaken was getting a bit boring after a week. A matter of preference I assume.
We shared the boat with 2 Brabanders. Good company - even though 1 of them comes from the Breda area and has a yellow and black diving suit :-D
So we left ChaCha on Bunaken today. It’s always sad to leave a place after a period. You get familiar with staff and how things work - but it’s also good to move on. New people, new environment and new dive-spots.
The transfer was not that exciting - but still we both feel like we have been sitting in a plane for the past 24 hours.
It is by all means totally different on Lembeh island. Being close to mainland means a lot more activity. A lot of small boats and in the background huge tankers. Also the weather is different (or at least today). It is so windy - I will not be able to use post-it’s here. Small “bounty island” days are over.
We both have a good feeling about the place we are now. A small place with only 6 cottages placed directly at the beach. If the kitchen is also okay (which we will find out in a bit) we will for sure have a good one.
Free WiFi and laundry service. Long live the good old Dutch traders mentality ;-)
